Military Veterans Defense

At a young age, a few select young men and women answer our nation’s call to service by raising their right hand and swearing to defend the United States.

Many of the nation’s warriors spend years away from their families and selflessly put themselves in harm’s way to accomplish the mission. In many cases, this comes at a huge personal and professional sacrifice.

Often times, either during or after service, service members’ careers find themselves in an adverse position to the government. These adverse positions come in many forms: pending criminal charges, administrative discipline, adverse discharge, or compensation denial for service-connected injuries. The list is endless.

Veterans defense is here to help you understand and protect your rights.

You agreed to protect our citizens without regard to your own wellbeing. It’s time to have a team of veterans fighting for yours. Give us a call, and let Carlson Law Group, LLC, have the opportunity to earn your trust and business!

Our commitment to you:

  • To fight and protect those that swore an oath to defend the nation

We Can Help

Our Practice Areas

Administrative Actions

PT failures or minor misconduct may have your Commander initiate a discharge board (enlisted members who have either served six years or are an NCO) or a Board of Inquiry (Officer) to have you separated from the service.

Article 15, UCMJ

An Article 15 is non-judicial punishment, meaning that it is not a judicial proceeding. Non-judicial punishment is a military justice option available to commanders.

Assault

Assault is another common offense chargeable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Unlike a civilian charge of assault, a military charge of assault is often accompanied with other military specific charges.

Child-Related Offenses

Whether it be sexually-based allegations or some other form of harm against a child, the consequences of being found guilty in any forum are grave.

Correction of Military Records

Often times, either during or after service, service members' careers find themselves in an adverse position to the government.

Court-Martial & U.C.M.J. Defense

Although being under investigation of a crime does not make you a criminal, you will likely feel like one because you will be unable to perform your military job.

Court-Martial: The Process

A court-martial is the military's version of a criminal trial. The process of convening a court-martial, however, is significantly different than in a civilian community.

Discharge Upgrades

For Veterans who have served in uniform and received less than an Honorable discharge, the impact on their post-service lives can be dramatic. While the process is not simple, a member can appeal his or her discharge classification.

Drug & Alcohol Crimes

Drugs and alcohol are prevalent in society, but the military takes a very different stance on how they are prosecuted.

Military-Specific Offenses

The military is unique in the fact that the Uniform Code of Military Justice has a plethora of military-specific offenses that one can be charged with.

Murder

Our team will ensure that the government neither oversteps its authority nor preemptively focus its attention on the wrongly accused.

Other Sexual Offenses

Sexual assault and rape are not the only sexually-based offenses that a member in the military can be investigated and disciplined for.

Rebuttals to Negative Administrative Paperwork

While these tools are not supposed to be punitive, receiving negative administrative paperwork can have lasting career consequences.

Rebuttals to Negative Performance Evaluations

You have the right to rebut and appeal comments in your performance report if the information is false, substantially misleading, or unjustly included.

Sexual Assault & Rape

Sexual assault and rape are serious offenses that have life changing consequences.
