Hatton is a lifelong Alaskan with extensive experience in criminal law. Born and raised in Seward and Moose Pass Alaska, he attended University of Alaska, Fairbanks for his undergraduate degree. Hatton attended Chicago-Kent College of Law and graduated in 2003. After law school, he worked in Anchorage for Law Offices of Bill Azar, a personal injury firm for a time, then started his own law office.
He then moved to Kenai working first for Mark Osterman Law Office primarily doing criminal defense, but also family law and personal injury. Hatton then worked for the Kenai Public Defender’s office. After he left Kenai, Hatton worked in various areas of the State with the Public Defender agency, including Kotzebue, Kodiak, and Palmer. He also spent some time as a Public Advocate for the State of Alaska in Anchorage. He joined Carlson Law Group in December 2022.
When Hatton is not working, he can be found with his 11 year-old son and their dog on area trails, or playing music with friends at open mics and jams around town.
